Our Work
Below is a selection of projects and collaborations that reflect our expertise in immersive UX research, human-AI interaction, games, and user experience strategy across both academia and industry.
User-Generated Avatar Usability & Quality Evaluation
Led cross-platform evaluation of user-generated avatars to assess usability, visual quality, and consistency. Employed mixed-methods research, including task-based usability testing, heuristic evaluation, and surveys for comparative benchmarking of different avatar creation methods. Findings informed design guidelines and improved avatar interoperability across Meta’s product ecosystem, enhancing personalization features for millions of users.

Evaluating Conversational AI & NPC Interactions in Immersive VR Games
Conducted mixed-methods UX research to assess realism, engagement, and usability of AI-driven NPCs in Meta Horizon Worlds. Findings informed product strategy, roadmap prioritization, and directly supported successful product launches. Collaborated with cross-functional teams to refine AI behavior models and optimize player experience.
VR-Based Climate Change Education & Systems Thinking
Led evaluation of an immersive VR simulation illustrating the hydrosphere’s role in the food-water-energy nexus. Applied qualitative and quantitative measures to assess learning outcomes, user engagement, and conceptual transfer. Results guided content refinement and demonstrated VR’s potential to enhance complex systems understanding in sustainability education.

Design & Evaluation of Adaptive AI Agents for Social Skills Training
Directed user research and usability testing of intelligent conversational agents in VR-based soft skills training scenarios. Created behavioral design guidelines for adaptive AI interactions, leading to measurable improvements in learner engagement and skill acquisition. Findings influenced product iterations and supported cross-institutional research partnerships.
Adaptive Game Systems & Player Modeling
Designed and evaluated personalized gameplay systems using player modeling techniques to adapt difficulty, narrative, and interaction styles. Conducted an extensive literature review synthesizing current personalization methods in gaming and education, which informed system architecture. Research influenced personalization features later integrated into immersive games and educational platforms.
